Source, Poultney (Vt) Journal--Fri.Oct.21,1932. POULTNEY, Vt. The remains of Fred Powers, son of George F. Powers, former residents here, were brought here for burial on Thursday. He was born in Poultney, (Vt) March 16, 1880, his death occurring at a hospital in New York city. His parents came here from Rutland (Vt) in 1879, when Mr. Powers entered the employ of Ripley & Stanley, now the Ripley Lumber company. Mrs. Powers' death occurred several years ago, and Mr. Powers now makes his home with his daughter, Mrs. May McCormick, in Bloomfield, N. J., who, together with her father and daughter were here for the funeral. A brother, Leon, resides in New Hampshire. Rev. Emmett P. Paige, rector of St. John's parish, officiated at the grave, interment being in Poultney cemetery.
