They had builded in the hollow of a tree, and assuring that there must be honey therein Evan went after it. result : More than 150 pounds were taken out and things in North Poultney are sweeter than ever. PS. I was really surprised to run across this article in the Poultney Journal , Evan was my father. I had heard this story numerous times while growing up. The find of the honey was a windfall in the 1930's, times were hard. My Dad sold some of the honey, he made enough money to buy some groceries .
