DeWitt Clinton Potter, one of the oldest and best known citizens of this place, died at his home on Monday morning after an illness of several months. He was born in Clarendon, Vt., May 10, 1834, and had lived in Castleton nearly sixty-three years. Besides his wife he is survived by a sister, Mrs. H. E. Barney of Castleton Corners, a brother, Fayette Potter of Ira, a grandson, and a great-grandson. The funeral was held on Wednesday.
