    2. Source, Rutland, Vt.Daily Herald--Wed. Apr.1, 1914. HER MARRIAGE ANNULLED. Luigia Cioffi Alleged Husband Abused Her. The marriage late last year of Luigia Cioffi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cioffi of Howe street (Rutland) ,and Pasquale Cappabianca, also of Rutland, was annulled in Rutland County court yesterday by Judge W. W. Miles. The young wife and her parents petitioned that the marriage be annulled, the action being brought through C. V.Poulin. The ground of the action was that the groom, Cappabianca, was only 20 years old when married, and did not have consent of his father. He told authorities he was legally of age, and independent of the authority of his parents. The girl alleged her husband abused her, and that she not lived with him since January, 1914, shortly before he was 21, and shortly after he told her he had lied in order to be married. James Pitaniello acted as interpreter, although Judge Miles understands some Italian. The marriage was the result of an elopement , and the groom accepted the marriage knot as an alternative to a prison cell. Cappabianca is now in jail fro breach of the peace.
