Source, Rutland Vt.Herald--Thur. May 12,1927. CASTLETON, Vt. Robert Foster, 76, died at his home north of the village at 12:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He had been ill since Thanksgiving with a complication of diseases. He was born May 19, 1850. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Mary Steemburg of Mendon, Vt.; one sister, Mrs. Matilda Ward of Canada. Mr. Foster was a member of the West Rutland Vt.Baptist church, of Hiram lodge, F. and A.M., West Rutland, and Bomoseen Grange of Castleton. For a number of years he was treasurer of the Christian Endeavor County union and also took an active part in the local society as long as he was able to attend. He had served as master of Bomoseen Grange.
