Bixby Article Title: Rutland Daily Herald Article Date: March 1 1937 Article Description: Obituary of Anna Bagley Article Text: Prominent Rutland Woman To Be Buried Today In Pittsford, Funeral services for Mrs.Anna Harriet Bagley,84,of 50 Pleasant street,who died shortly before midnight on Friday after a long illness, will be held at her home this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev.J.Graydon Brown, pastor of the Congregational church, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Pittsford. Born in Rutland on June 9,1852, the eldest daughter of Almira Allen Eayres and George Nelson, Mrs.Bagley moved to Pittsford with her parents at an early age.The family returned to Rutland in 1877. She was educated in the Pittsford public schools and at Tilden seminary at Lebanon, N.H.She taught school in Pittsford and Rutland.On June 18,1878 she was married to Leon G.Bagley.The ceremony was performed in the Congregational church in Pittsford. Mrs.Bagley was a member of the Congregational church, the Home Circle Woman's association,the Fortnightly and other organizations .During her younger years she was prominent in women's club affairs. She is survived by her husband; three nephews,Wilbert E.Burditt ,George N.E. Burditt and Carl B.Hinsman,all of this city and four nieces, Mrs.J.J.York of Schenectady,N.Y.,Mrs. Earl Gowen of Lynn,Mass.,Mrs. William Sloan of Brockton, Mass.,and Mrs.R.A.
