    2. Source, Rutland Vt.Herald--Sat.Dec.27,1890. WEST RUTLAND, Vt. Patrick Tigue, jr., after an absence of two years, is enjoying the holidays with friends in town. Miss Addie Mackerney of Troy, N.Y., is in town for a few days. John Ryan, who has been traveling throughout the west in the interest of the Albertson Marble company, returned home in season for Christmas. The annual Christmas festival of the Episcopal society occurred last evening. W. R. Gilmore has commenced taking a second crop of ice from his ice pond. The R.H.S. quartet very pleasantly entertained their friends on Barnes street Thursday evening. Their songs, quaint and comic, with harmonious and mellifluous selections, were much enjoyed. Morris Moriarty and wife have returned from their Christmas visit at Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Mr. Anthony Deacy gave the inmates of the poor farm a royal feast of good things on Christmas day. Roast turkey, plum pudding and pies,with all needed accessories under the skillful hand of the good housewife, greeted the eyes of the boarders as the bell rang for dinner. Nor was this all. A well-loaded Christmas tree bore fruit to each member , reminding them of the joyous time of year. The poor surely were not forgotten and are enthusiastic in their praises of " Sir Anthony ".
