My husband's family were the Randolphs of Goochland County Virginia. They were free people and mulattoes. The mother was named Betsy(Elizabeth)Randolph who had several children by Elijiah Cragwall her children retained the Randolph name of their mother since it was illegal to marry someone of another race. Betsy had a lot of children and family that have migrated over the United States. If you knew the great grandparents name maybe we can search further.
