I am trying to find out who his parents are and if he is related to Captain Thomas Ashby of Virginia. He is listed briefly in The Ashby Book: ABEL ASHBY was born October 09 1787 in Ft. Ashby, Maryland, and died May 09 1846 in Warren Township, Ohio. He married HARRIET CONOWAY ASHBY November 28, 1811 in Steubenville, Ohio. She was born 1790 in Maryland.
