I'm really intrigued by your post. Have you found out about your Toombs lineage? I live in Philadelphia and my grandmother's surname is Toombs. She was born in 1921 and is from Richmond, VA. Her family migrated from Richmond to Philadelphia in the 1930's. Her father's name is Percy Toombs b 1899 and his parents were John Toombs b 1862 and Nannie Jones.
