My G-G-Grandfather, Lemuel H. WINDSOR, had a brother named William L. and his sister was named Jane Catherine. She married James M. LARCOMBE around 1853-4 and lived in Washington, DC, most of her life. As a matter of fact, all three of these WINDSOR's spent most of their adult lives (after the 1850 census) in Washington, DC. However, Jane died in Phoebus, Virginia, in 1899 and was buried in the Congressional Cemetery in DC. Her husband, James, died in 1903 in Phoebus also and is buried with Jane in Congressional. My Mother remembers sometime during her younger years (in the 1930-40 timeframe) visiting with several elderly ladies in Phoebus, VA. She does not know who these ladies were as she was so young. I see from internet sources that there are still some Larcombe's in Virginia ... in the Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and Fairfax areas. If you had ancestors who were related to the LARCOMBE's/SCULLY's who in the early- to mid-20th Century lived in Phoebus, please contact me. According to his obituary, James' grandaughter, Emma Scully (her Mother was Jane and James' daughter), was living with him in Phoebus in 1903 when he passed away. She was only about 6 years old. I would appreciate any information you may have on the above people. Thank you in advance, <mailto:[email protected]>Betty
