Denise, I just searched for anywhere named Minois in the US. Didn't find Minois but did find a Minos, Illinois. Since his death certificate is from Illinois I'm going to guess Minois might have been the spelling one time OR it was misspelled. Also, there's a Mason County in Illinois but it's over 200 miles away from Minos. Good luck! Kathy
