I have found Arvilla nee Lindsey on World Connect - a name which was used in the family here in Australia. Mother Phoebe Russell (right surname, the Christian name I couldn't read on the certificate) Father Rolland , not Robert (again, could be poor penmanship and faded ink on the marriage certificate from the 1850s) Now I only have to connect back to the parents to find siblings of Arvilla, on some other site as it is not on WC. Arvilla was in Illinois. I thank you all for your help. If we find it goes back to or started in Virginia, we shall let you know our findings in case someone connects. I would say you are on the right track. Rolland was not that common of name in those times also the other's you named either.
