    3. 07JAN08 MISS. DIANE; LIST; Thanks for the Intel, the MYSTERY CONTINUES on the elusive- *BENJAMIN BROWN* !! As before your' BENJAMIN BROWN fits the-Time frame, place, profile, and migration routes!! He could very well be of the same family as our' *JOHN & ELIZABETH (ERWIN)-BROWN-(b.circa-1740)*---father of our'- *JOHN ERWIN BROWN-(b-NC or VA-circa-1760)??? Our' JOHN ERWIN BROWN married [in NC?] a lady named- [*ELIZABETH* ????]-two known kids. (1)- JOHN ERWIN-[jr] ----- (2) - MARY POLLY- Both born in GEORGIA-(circa-1800)??? MARY POLLY (BROWN) and *CHARLES MONTGOMERY-(b.GA-circa-1795)*- married in Unknown County, GA"-(before-1820??). We know so very little about our BROWN Family, except that most researchers believe that they came from "VIRGINIA" to the "MECKLINBURG/ ROWAN/ CHARLOTTE, NC" areas, by - (about-1760)---No Intel about "Any Siblings" of *JOHN or ELIZABETH(ERWIN)-BROWN* , except her father was a JOHN ERWIN-[wilkes,ga]?? Migrated to Unknown County, GEORGIA-(probably after the REV.WAR)?? Most researchers think that--- "JOHN ERWIN [jr] and MARY POLLY BROWN"-were born some where in GEORGIA?? The one fact is that they were in the "TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA" areas-(1819- 1823)!!! Witnessed-The marriage of our *JOHN HINTON & ESTER (MONTGOMERY)-HINTON*!! ESTER (MONTGOMERY) was the sister of *CHARLES MONTGOMERY* who married *MARY POLLY (BROWN)*!!! Good Luck in your search for the Mysterious family of BENJAMIN BROWN!!! Hi Bill - I just heard from a researcher who has done extensive search on Benjamin's line - and she simply never found the first 'hint' of the names of his parents. It appears that they did not leave Virginia with him.. wish I could tell you more - wish I knew more... Diane S ----01JANUARY2008---- MISS. DIANE; LIST; Greetings again, on your' BENJAMIN BROWN- (b.VA-circa-1763)-Do you know anything on his family, if he had any Brothers!! As before our' JOHN ERWIN BROWN-(b.VA or NC-circa-1760)-son of "JOHN-(b.circa-1740) & ELIZABETH (ERWIN)-BROWN" are listed by most, as being from the- *AUGUSTA/ AMHERST Counties, VIRGINIA*, but some say he was from the- "Coastal VIRGINA Areas"??? We have done a little Digging in the "AUGUSTA, VIRGINA" areas, and found that "ORANGE COUNTY, VA" was made from "AUGUSTA COUNTY", which originally was like a Super County before being Sliced Up!! Most agree that the family came down the Great PHILY Wagon Road from---"PA"--,VIRGINA to the "ROWAN/ MECKLINBURG/ CHARLOTTE, NC" areas,-[circa- 1760] - then into eastern GEORGIA-[AUGUSTA/ WILKES], etc--- (REV.WAR YEARS->>>>)!!!! Love b. 6 Oct 1763 d. 14 Oct 1821 Elbert Co., Ga. - I have his 10 children and their spouse... and most of their children. The party consisted of the following names: Herndon, Rucker, Thornton, Brown, etal. It was a large party that traveled together from Va. to N.C. where they stayed over the Rev. and then moved on to Ga. together. I don't know if any stayed in N.C., but usually there are marriages and some do stay. I have his pension application... he fought at King's Mountain. That's about all I have... Diane S 29DEC07 DIANE S.; LIST; On this *BENJAMIN BROWN-(b.circa-1763); Pure Speculation on where he was from-["PA"], what we have seen is -Two (2) apparent migration routes! WAR YEARS",-[1770's] and after!! (2)- The second group migrated across to "NY/ NJ/ DEL/ MD, and Coastal VIRGINIA areas", before migrating on down, and then across "NORTH CAROLINA, and on into GEORGIA"???
