I'm trying to find where in Virginia one family of CRANEs were living. It appears they came to the state from New Jersey about 1850, but possibly after the Federal census that year, and were gone to Pennsylvania by around 1855. They had a daughter born in the state about 1851, Josephine CRANE [parents James Harvey CRANE and Sarah Teresa BRADFORD]. That is the only indication I have they they lived in Virginia. With this little info, and with them apparently out of Virginia for the federal censuses. anybody have any ideas about what other records might be available to pin them down?
