Hi: I'm new to this list and hope someone is researching the GANNON name. My great grandfather, Thomas GANNON, b. Ireland, m. Ireland, had one son, John M. GANNON, b. abt 1850. His first wife died in Ireland and Thomas and John came to America, where Thomas m. Mary Ann MCCREA in 1856 in Baltimore, MD. They had one daughter, Anna Teresa, who m. James A. KELLY. in 1875. John M. GANNON moved to Weems Creek, Irvington, Lancaster Co., VA, near the Rappahannock River, where he farmed and operated a three masted schooner up and down the east coast. He m. Elizabeth ROWE, b. Feb. 1852 in VA., between 1879-1882. They adopted one son, John R., b. about 1905. John M. died sometime after 1910 in VA. Since I can find no record of the death of Thomas in MD, there is a possibility he died at the home of John in VA. I also haven't found a death record for either John.
