John and Ann ROWAN/RUANE c 1835 came from Ireland and settled in Ritchie Co Virginia (which later became Ritchie Co West Virginia). While there they were blessed with at least 3 chilren Peter c 1858, Michael J. c 1851-1859 and Thomas 1865. Appears John the senior died abt 1870 in Scranton as their son John the younger was born c 1869 in Scranton. Mother Ann RUANE/ROWAN is found as early as 1870 in Luzerne/Lackawanna Co Scranton, PA with the 3 children. Michael J. RUANE married Bridget GERRITY/GERAGHTY and raised their family in Scranton.
