    3. Can some kind soul please check the Virginia 1850 and 1860 censuses for me for these people: W.F. (William F.) MCCLENAHAN was a Virginia born U.S. Navy surgeon. In 1861 he resigned from U.S. service to enter the C.S. Navy. His wife was Catherine Desabaye Ridgely. She was from Georgia and the widow of Capt. Randolph Ridgely, U.S. Army, who died in Mexico in 1846. She had one child, Randolph Ridgely, born in 1844, and and least one other, W.F. MCCLENAHAN, b. c.1851. The two young men were living together in Georgia in 1870 and 1880. When Randolph Ridgely enrolled in Mt. St. Mary's College prep school in Maryland in 1855 (age 10) his home was Norfolk and McClenahan was his guardian. By the 1860 Navy Register, McClenahan was at the Washington Navy Yard. 1861-62 correspondence shows him and "Kate" McClenahan at Fredericksburg. A resume of his CSN service shows him at the Richmond Naval Station, 1861-63, and at Charlotte, NC, 1863-65. After the war he served in the Peruvian Navy for period of time. Can anyone find W.F. or Catherine "Kate" McClenahan or Randolph Ridgely in the 1850 and/or 1860 Virginia census? Thanks for any help. Russell K. Brown
