VA mailing list also - there are a number of Paxon/Paxtons in the early records - even a few Wolfords and Chappels - you might be able to make a connection or two.... John Ellsworth Chappell was born in VA but his grandfather, John Chapple, left him property in Tenleytown, Washington, DC. Sarah Paxton married both husbands with DC licenses. George W. Wolford is listed as being born in VA and I don't know much more but there were Wolford's in VA and in up counties MD. Some in Frederick and Washington Counties, MD and some in different parts of VA including some of the parts which became WV. (Not too far apart as the birds fly - but across the river.) Many of my antecedents have been found on owning property on both sides of the river. One example: My Bohrer's were in Frederick Counties MD & VA from before 1720. I know a little about the Chappell's but not my Paxton's and Wolford's. I was hoping for a will or probate record for Sarah's or George's parents or <VBG> rich uncle or some wonderful thing like that :-). Sometimes SKS knows a lot and/or does a look-up that gives me a sniff or direction to follow. So I thought I'd ask and see if anyone knew anything about these families. Thanks, again.
