Sending a reply to gc-gateway does not work, mail coming through gateway has to be replied to at the point of origin for every gate-wayed list otherwise unless the person is subscribed to the list they are not going to see your reply.     3. the Navy also has a web page "Naval History Center web page"...I found it by accident when I was researching ... it has alot of ships on it..can't remember about carriers..they also have email..& they were most helpful I do remember the day the America pulled into NOB for the 1st time... I don't remember the Enterprise on pier 12(it was to long). You might want to become familiar with http://www.google.com When you bring up the Google main page, there is a place to key in words for your area of interest, such as Navy aircraft carriers or Norfolk Virginia or aircraft crews or whatever you think might get the information that you want. Google will get you a lot more information on aircraft carriers than this genealogy list will and will point you to a lot of things that nobody on this list might think of. Good luck.     2. It could be the USS Enterprise, as that was stationed in Norfolk, VA and was active during the 1960's. My brother served on it a short time, but then went to the USS Kitty Hawk which is another huge aircraft carrier, but he never mentioned being in VA, will ask him though for you.
