    3. Thanks for the idea. I will search it this weekend. Paul -----Original Message----- From: virginia-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:virginia-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Julie Sent: Friday, April 11, 2008 1:25 PM To: virginia@rootsweb.com Subject: [VIRGINIA] Miller - Virginia to Ohio to Illinois This probably won't help, but my LEHEWs left Virginia around 1804 for Ohio. Have you check Revelutionary War Pensions? maybe his father got one of those. Try www.footnote.com (they should have a free trial or something) they have a lot of Rev. War Pension files and the cool thing is if they have another person's name listed in a Pension file it is searchable. So you might find your Edwin listed as son. I hope that helps. Author: TimothyPaulGallagher Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.virginia.unknown/7178/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Gallagher* Clan Reunion 2008 USA As a follow up to last years great reunion in County Donegal, Ireland we announce the Gallagher Reunion 2008 USA. Just as our Irish cousins sent out a call for " all Gallaghers and those with Gallagher in their family trees," to gather in Ireland in 2007, we, your American cousins, are asking that you pack your bags once again and join us for our Gallagher Clan Reunion 2008 USA. This time the gathering will take place in Maryland, USA rightly called "America in Miniature". We will gather July 12 through July 19th. Events will take place in Frederick County, Maryland, Adams County, Pennsylvania, and in Washington D.C. We are looking forward to seeing Gallaher families from all over the USA and the four corners of the globe. We will attend a baseball game, watch fireworks, hear about the Irish and the Gallaghers in the American civil war, attend the 9th annual Adams county Irish festival . We will eat some and dance some and sing some. In other words we will have FUN. There will be tall tales and tales of true adventure that make up the tapestry of our Gallagher history. We will attend church services in the historic houses of worship where "The clustered spires of Frederick stand Green-walled by the hills of Maryland." We will meet to discuss and share Gallagher genealogy and to hear an update on the Gallagher DNA project. We will share stories that celebrate our Gallagher heritage. We will hold a business meeting to organize Gallagher Clan chapters in all US states and Canadian provinces. *Including but not limited to these spellings Callagher, Galagher, Galaher, Galigher, Gallaghar, Gallagher, Gallahar, Gallaher, Gallaugher, Galliher, Gallihur, Gallocher, Gallogher, Galloher, Gallougher,Galligher, Goligher, Gollagher, Gollaher, Golliher, Gollocher, Gollogher, Golloher, Gollougher, Goloher, For further information contact: Timothy P. 1. [VIRGINIA] Terry's in Cave Spring and Floyd, VA
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: BEHAPPY414 Surnames: Terry Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.virginia.unknown/7177/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello my Terry family and friends, I have done much research. I am searching for relatives. I am black, but that doesn't matter since we're all related somehow. My G-G-Grandfather is Abraham (Abe) Terry b. 1870 in Virginia. In 1920, he lived on a farm owned by whites in Cave Springs, Roanoke (farm 277-281). He had five children - Robert b. 1900, Joseph b. 1904, Edward b. 1906, Gertrude b. 1910 and Fred b. 1915. The first three children were from a marriage to Julia (Satterfield?). The last two children were from Daisy, who died in 1918 from burns suffered during a fire. Joseph, the second eldest, also married a Julia and died in W.V. in 1973 possibly. Abe b. 1870 had a sister named Lucy and Melvinnie or Melvina, and possibly some other siblings but the historian in the family only remembers the two. The historian went to the farm Abe lived on and played with two little white girls. Here is the tricky part. I'm assuming that a Mat. Terry b. 1835 and a Gracie Ann Terry b. 1840 (mulatto) in Little River Township, Floyd VA are Abe, Melvinnie and Lucy's (Lucinda) parents. I am not sure if they live on a farm or not but the 1870 and 1880 census stated they lived on 127-125. The children were Martha, Agnes, Lucinda, Melli (sp?), Melvina, Abram, Ann and Frances. There is much more to this story as there are other Terry's alive and well today. We are planning a trip to VA to search library files to possibly locate the areas where the above ancestors lived. Any information on these farms or the family is appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
