Jessee was born c. 1847 in Smyth County, VA. James Madison Jones, Jr. was the son of James Madison Jones, Sr. and Mary Musser (Mercer). Sr. and Mary had a bunch of children. I can share that with you if you like. James Madison Sr. was the son of John Lewis Jones and Christina Walters. They were married 7-2-1795 in Washington County, VA by Rev. Charles Cummins. I don't know the parents of John Lewis Jones. I have been searching for quit some time for this info. However, the parents of Catherine (Christina) Walters were George Walters and Christina Crewey. George was tried and convicted of being a Tory. His punishment was that he had to serve with George Washington in the Delaware Campaign. George is buried in what is now Giles County, Va. I have a great deal of info on this family is you are intersted. If so, e-mail me at linda.lox@gmail.com. I am the gggreat granddaughter if John Lewis Jones and Catherine Walters Jones. You are the first person that I have come across researching that name. I started out with the Spruill name and it has taken me back to the Stubbs. Mary Stubbs was my great grandmother who married a Spruill. Her son James was my grandfather. The more I research this side of the family, the more questions I seem to have. They would just pick a alias and use that as legal name, for a few years, then go back to Stubbs and Spruill! If you have any further info, I sure would appreciate it! 1. [VIRGINIA] Virginia Synagogues: Photography & History E-Book
    2. Julian H. Preisler
    3. Dear List Members: I want to let all of you know of an E-Book I recently published featuring over 3200 original larger color photographs of 1410 individual US synagogue buildings. The E-Book features synagogue photographs from all 50 States and Washington, DC and also contains basic historical data on each congregation featured. The Vermont section is rather large featuring 103 original nice sized photos of 38 individual Virginia synagogue buildings. Many of these synagogue buildings are located in small towns and isolated communities and many are no longer used for Jewish worship. This cd-rom is Volume One of a planned two volume series. Many people have found this resource helpful when looking for photographs of synagogues with family connections, etc. Anyone interested in Virginia Jewish history, American Jewish history or synagogue architecture and design will find it to be a valuable resource. All the details and ordering information can be found on my website: www.AmericanSynagogueArchitecture.com There are 3 sample pages from the E-Book on the website so you can see how the pages look and the information that is provided. If any of you are interested, please have a look at my website. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your time and interest. Best Regards, Mr. Julian H. 1. [VIRGINIA] Alexander Williams, VA 1700's
    2. Walter F. Williams
    3. Good Afternoon: Any clues greatly appreciated. Alexander Williams lived, left two sons, John and Hanson (Henson) and died. We know this much from the will and estate administration of William Harden in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties Virginia. Alexander died after May 18, 1781 and prior to May 12, 1786. Alexander Williams was present as an adult in Fairfax County in 1766. There appears to be more than one Alexander Williams in this "neck of the woods" at around this point in time! Loudoun County Personal Property Tax records show an Alexander Williams listed from 1782 until 1797; and Fairfax County lists an Alexander in 1783. Any assistance with primary or secondary documentation of this individual and his lines and their extension greatly appreciated. Always happy to swap files. Walt
