He was living in Alexandria, VA before is sister from North Carolina came to take him back home because he was sick sometime between 1964-1975. He had a son, Joseph Lee Brooks, with Sarah Elizabeth Lizzie Miles in 1954 in Alexandria, VA. Joseph and Sarah never got married. Sarah had around 10 children and when "Wine" would visit her, he would bring gifts not only for his baby boy Joseph Lee but also for Sarah's other children. Hi all, I found this obituary in the Virginia section of the library of files at GenealogyBuff.com http://www.genealogybuff.com Bertie Frances Crank NORFOLK -- Bertie Frances Crank, 90, went to be with the Lord Jan. 18, 2002. Born in Wilson County, N.C., she resided in Norfolk for the past 70 years. She was an active member of Temple Baptist Church where she was a founding member and teacher of the Crusaders Bible Class. She was also a member of the Temple Tones, Baptist WMU, and church bowling league. Bertie served in the community with the Union Mission Ladies' Auxiliary, Hope Haven Children's Home and Meals on Wheels. She was the widow of A. Elmer Crank and was predeceased by her son, Walton A. Crank. Surviving are her children, Louis H. Crank and wife Frances of Virginia Beach, Virgie L. Wakefield and husband Bob of Cape Cod, Mass., daughter-in-law, Pat M. Crank of Virginia Beach, B. Sue Vaughan of Huntington Beach, Calif., June C. Matal and husband Vince of Raleigh, N.C., Ella Mae Jones of Norfolk and Eugene F. Crank and wife JoAnne of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Grooville Walters Jr. is on a census in 1880 in Sharpsburg Ky as bing born 1820, his wife is Mary( we think Mary Cline, but may have been called Polly), son is William with wife Sarah, who has son named Grooville also. Grooville Walter Jr. has a daughter who is also named Sarah and son who is John J.(my GG Granddfather. Who is Grooville Walters Jr. father, I cannot find a Grooville Walters other than this one. Cannot, absolutely Cannot find Grooville Jr. Father. The census says he is born in Va. So, I thought maybe since he had a son named William that William G.
