Hello everyone I've just added about 20 new funeral cards to my site Ancestors At Rest at http://ancestorsatrest.com/ They cover the following locations: Missouri, Ohio, VIrginia, New York, Iowa, Illinois, Pennsylvania, England, Connecticut, and some from uknown locations. I looked around in some census records to find more on those unknown location deaths but didn't have a lot of time. If anyone knows who these ancestors are, and where they lived, please let me know so I can add that info to their pages I also added names of folks interred at York Cemetery, Toronto Ontario in 1848. See my CEMETERY RECORDS section for that link To view the list of all funeral cards online, see http://ancestorsatrest.com/funeral_cards/ To view the records by location, see http://ancestorsatrest.com/deaths_by_location.shtml Don't miss the recent submissions, records I haven't had time to put on the main pages - these are found at my submission page at http://ancestorsatrest.com/submissions/ Hope this is of interest, and if you want to pass this message on to other lists, that'd be great. Ruth, What information DO you have on this Ashley Cooper? The name intrigues me as there are Ashleys and Coopers in the deep dark past of my supposed heritage, including George, the brother of Anthony Ashley Cooper. Are you aware of any living male Coopers of this line? A COOPER Surname DNA Project exists for anyone looking for a way to find related COOPER-lines. It does require a male with the COOPER surname. The purpose is to find people with the COOPER surname who share a common ancestor, as well as identifying the different lines and possible points of origin. I have personally used DNA analysis to substantiate research, further my research efforts, give me direction in my research, and to prove or disprove research I have completed. I have found it to be an invaluable research tool. By no means does it supplant traditional genealogy research, but it does supplement and give an added tool in genealogical research. If you are someone in your family might be interested in becoming a part of this Project, please contact the group administrator at the following email address. H. Does anyone on this line have an Ashley COOPER, born 1756, married to Mary Rowan SUMMERS? I'm trying to find out where he was born, and many indications point to Virginia. I believe he was probably a United Empire Loyalist and went to Ontario, Canada sometime during or after the Revolutionary War. Ruth

I'm trying to find where in Virginia one family of CRANEs were living. It appears they came to the state from New Jersey about 1850, but possibly after the Federal census that year, and were gone to Pennsylvania by around 1855. They had a daughter born in the state about 1851, Josephine CRANE [parents James Harvey CRANE and Sarah Teresa BRADFORD]. That is the only indication I have they they lived in Virginia. With this little info, and with them apparently out of Virginia for the federal censuses. anybody have any ideas about what other records might be available to pin them down? Hi everyone, One of my websites is called Virginia deaths 1897-1912, the missing years: http://vagenealogy.homestead.com/vadths1897.html So far I have placed 2,660 deaths of people who died in Virginia during those years. I call it the missing years because the state of Virginia did not keep death records during those years. >From 1853-1896 there were state of Va. death records on registers, only about half ot he deaths were reported then. And starting on June 14th of 1912 death certificates which continue until this day. This page is one of the links on my website, Miscellaneous Virginia Genealogy: http://vagenealogy.homstead.com/ I hope that you are able to find some family on these pages, if not then plase check back from time to time if you want to as I add more information when I can. Thank you. God bless, Beth [email protected]
