I have the utmost respect for usenet and all the contributors therein, and in no way do I or have I ever supported spam and/or spammers in any way shape or form. This paypal post caught my attention as I found myself in a bit of a financial jam. Facing the possibility of losing my house and at my wits end, I gave it a shot. Believe me I cannot begin to tell you how fast this works. I am now out of debt and have a continual flow of cash which I have been vesting all due to this "system". I suggest trying it just once, and seeing for yourself exactly where you can be financially in just a few weeks. As a further respect to this "system" I encourage all to follow the below instructions AS IS. Furthermore, I am only posting this once to all groups, please give it a try and see for yourself. PAYPAL MAGIC!!! TURN $5 INTO $15,000 IN ONLY 30 DAYS...HERES HOW! This is a Money Scheme and Not, I repeat... This is Not a Scam!!! You have most likely seen or heard about this project on TV programs such as 20/20 and Oprah, or you may have read about it in the Wall Street Journal. If not, here it is below - revealed to you in step-by-step detail. This program is by no means new. It has been in existence in many forms for at least a decade. But in the early days, it required a lot more time and effort, as well as an investment of a few hundred dollars. However thanks to PayPal and the Internet, the investment is now virtually ZERO! And what's more, the entire process is FASTER, EASIER, and MORE LUCRATIVE than it has EVER been! Below is the email sent to me: How to Turn $5 into $15,000 in 30 Days with PayPal I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I SAW HOW MUCH MONEY CAME FLOODING INTO MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT I turned $5 into $14,706 within the first 30 days of operating the business plan that I am about to reveal to you free of charge. If you decide to take action on the following instructions, I will GUARANTEE that you will enjoy a similar return! STILL NEED PROOF? Here are just 3 testimonials from the countless individuals who decided to invest nothing more than $5 and half an hour of their time to participate in this program: "What an amazing plan! I followed your instructions just 3 weeks ago, and although I haven't made 15 grand yet, I'm already up to $9,135. I'm absolutely gob smacked." -Pam Whittemore , Ohio "Well, what can I say?... THANK YOU SO MUCH! I sent 40 e-mail's out like you said and then I just forgot about the whole thing. To be honest, I didn't really think anything would come of it. But when I checked my paypal account a week later, there was over $5,000 in After 30 days I now have over $11,000 to spend! I can't thank you enough!"-Juan Tovar, NY,NY "I was shocked when I saw how much money came flooding into my paypal account. Within 3 weeks my account balance has ballooned to $12,449. At first I thought there had been some sort of error with my account!" -Richard Barrie , Boulder,CO The only things you will need are: An email address. A Business PayPal account with at least $5 deposited in it, and just 15 to 30 minutes of your time. This program takes just half an hour to set up. After that, there is absolutely no work whatsoever to do on your part. You have absolutely NOTHING to lose, and there is NO LIMIT to the amount of income you can generate from this one single business program. Let's get started, just follow the instructions exactly as set out below and then prepare yourself for a HUGE influx of cash over the next 30 days! Here's what you need to do. . . REQUIREMENTS [THESE INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED VERBATUM FOR THIS TO WORK] #1) an email address #2) a Premier or Business PayPal account Now follow the steps: 1-4 STEP #1 - Setting up your FREE PayPal Account It's extremely safe and very easy to set up a FREE PayPal account! Copy and paste this to the address bar https://www.paypal.com (notice the secure "https" within the link) Be sure to sign up for a free PREMIER or BUSINESS account (and not just a PERSONAL account) otherwise you won't be able to receive credit card payments from other people. STEP #2 - Sending PayPal money "It is an undeniable law of the universe that we must first give in order to receive." Now all you have to do is send $5.00 by way of PayPal to each of the six email addresses listed below. After setting up your free paypal account and confirming or verifying YOUR ACCOUNT AND putting (five Dollars) $5.00 into your Paypal Account use the Account tab on Paypal to send $5.00 to the first of the names above. List then move the top one and place yours in the #5 spot on the list of names #1-#5. Remember your name becomes #5. Make sure the subject of the payment says... *PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR EMAIL LIST* (this keeps the program 100% legal.. so please don't forget!) Note: (If you do not see the full email address for the 5 members, just hit reply to this email and they will show up.) (Just in case you still haven't opened your PayPal account yet, use this link to open one in your name), https://www.paypal.com #1) [email protected] #2) [email protected] #3) [email protected] #4) [email protected] #5) [email protected] Remember, all of this is ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! You are creating a service! A Business... An Email List Service Business If you have any doubts, please refer to Title 18 Sec. 1302 & 1241 of the United States Postal laws. STEP #3 - Adding Your Email Address After you send your five $1.00 payments, it's your turn to add your email address to the list! Take the #1) email off the list that you see above, move the other addresses up one (5 becomes 4 & 4 becomes 3, etc) then put YOUR email address (the one used in your PayPal account) as #5) on the list. **MAKE SURE THE EMAIL YOU SUPPLY IS EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS IN YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT.** STEP #4 - Copy Message to 200 Newgroups, message boards,etc...... The Pure Joy of Receiving PayPal Money! You are now ready to post your copy of this message, to at least 200 newsgroups, message boards, etc. (I think there are close to 32,000 groups) All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more money you make - as well as everyone else on the list! In this situation your job is to let as many people see this letter as possible. So they will make you and me rich!!!! You can even start posting the moment your email is confirmed. Payments will still appear in your PayPal account even while your bank account is being confirmed. HOW TO POST TO NEWSGROUPS & MESSAGE BOARDS Step #1) You do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your own posting. Simply put your CURSOR at the beginning of this letter and drag your CURSOR to the bottom of this document, and select 'copy' from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into your computer's temporary memory. Step #2) Open a blank 'Notepad' file and place your cursor at the top of the blank page. From the 'Edit' menu select 'Paste'. This will paste a copy of the letter into notepad so that you can add your email to the list. Or copy to a Word Document. and Place in the email upon completion. Step #3) Save your new Notepad file as a .txt file. If you want to do your postings in different sittings, you'll always have this file to go back to. Step #4) Use Netscape or Internet Explorer and try searching for various newsgroups, on-line forums, message boards, bulletin boards, chat sites, discussions, discussion groups, online communities, etc. EXAMPLE: go to any search engine like yahoo.com, google.com, altavista.com, excite.com - then search with subjects like? millionaire message board? or money making message board? or opportunity message board? or money making discussions? or business bulletin board? or money making forum? etc. You will find thousands & thousands of message boards. Click them one by one then you will find the option to post a new message. Step #5) Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting 'Paste' from the 'Edit' menu. Fill in the Subject, this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll thru the list of postings in a particular group, click the post message button. You're done with your first one! Congratulations! THAT'S IT!! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away. After you get the hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup! REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS AND/OR MESSAGE BOARDS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200** That's it! You will begin receiving money within days! **JUST MAKE SURE THE EMAIL YOU SUPPLY IS EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS ON PAYPAL.** Explanation of why it works so well: $$$$$ NOW THE WHY PART: Out of 200 postings, say I receive only 5 replies (a very low example). So then I Made $5.00 with my email at #5 on the letter. Now, each of the 5 persons who just sent me $1.00 make the MINIMUM 200 postings, each with my email at #5 and only 5 persons respond to each of the original 5, that is another $25.00 for me, now those 25 each make 200 MINIMUM posts with my email at #4 and only 5 replies each, I will bring in an additional $125.00! Now, those 125 persons turn around and post the MINIMUM 200 with my email at #3 and only receive 5 replies each, I will make an additional $625.00! OK, now here is the fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with my email at #2 and they only receive 5 replies that just made me $3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with my email at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200 newsgroups react I will receive $15,625.00! With an original investment of only $5.00! AMAZING!! When your email is no longer on the list, you just take latest posting in the newsgroups, and send out another $5.00 to emails on the list, putting your email at number 5 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is, thousands of people all over the world are joining the internet and reading these articles everyday, JUST LIKE YOU are now!! So can you afford $5.00?? And see if it really works?? I think so? People have said, what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the money? So what are the chances of that happening when there are tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users everyday, with thousands of those joining the actual Internet. Remember, play FAIRLY and HONESTLY and this will work. This really isn't another one of those crazy scams! As long as people FOLLOW THROUGH with sending out $5.00, it works! Hi, everybody, I'm hoping to find photos/drawings or other graphic representations of early business/commercial locations owned or operated by some of my Anderson ancestors [specifically my grandfather, great-grandfather and great uncle, all surnamed Anderson]. I've done what I can to search locally with almost no luck. My grandfather was John Buchanan ANDERSON, born 6 June 1895 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and died 26 July 1941 in Danville, Pittsylvania County, Virginia. His father was Chesley Samuel Anderson, born 16 January 1869 in Halifax County, Virginia, and died 23 April 1926 in Fort Meade, Florida. Chesley's brother was the first John Buchanan Anderson, born 13 November 1857 in Halifax County, Virginia, and died 30 March 1930 in Danville, Virginia. Brothers Chesley and John became heavily involved in business in Danville between about 1902 and 1930, including John being a tobacco broker and the two brothers establishing Riverside Overall Co. for the manufacture of farm/work clothes. Chesley, or the two brothers together, also operated "Anderson Motor Company" about 1922 in Danville and a box/furniture manufacturer before running the car dealership. Ultimately, all of their business ventures became known by the general name of "Anderson Brothers" or "Anderson Brothers Co., Inc.". What I'm interested in finding, if such is available, are pictures/photos/drawings of those buildings occupied by the various businesses, dating from as early as possible but certainly any are welcome since two of the physical locations where the businesses were known to exist are now vacant lots [one is a vacant lot and the other actually contains railroad sidings and graveled or paved truck parking]. The locations for which I would like to find photos, drawings, etc., include [all in Danville]: The intersection of Floyd & Spring Streets [northwest corner, now vacant lot across Floyd Street from former Community Market building], dating back as close as possible to 1900-1905; the intersection of Floyd & High Streets [northeast corner, adjacent to the Floyd-Spring property] -- interested in earliest possible pictures/images of existing red brick building, from as close to 1910-1920 as possible; The odd-numbered side of the 400 block of Craghead Street [starting at the intersection of Worsham Street, going east] -- is existing building the original and are there early pictures of it available, from as close to the early 1920s as possible; The vacant lot opposite the former Danville train station on Craghead Street [now Danville Science Center and the Danville Community Market -- the vacant lot contains railroad sidings now and truck parking], dating as close to 1910 as possible. John B[uchanan] Anderson worked from the Floyd-Spring Streets building, while he and his brother Chesley Samuel operated Riverside Overall Company [later Anderson Brothers] from the building at Floyd & High Streets. Chesley operated Anderson Motor Company from the 400s Craghead Street site around 1922. One or both brothers, together with at least one partner, operated the box manufacturing plant from a building on what is now the vacant lot/railroad siding. I'd appreciate it if anyone who has access to pictures/drawings of those early buildings would please get in touch with me at your earliest convenience. I've already done what research I could from here in Danville with almost no luck. I can take pictures of the sites at Floyd & High Streets and the building in the 400 block of Craghead, but that isn't quite the same as finding early pictures of those locations or obtaining pictures of buildings on the other sides where no buildings currently exist. An acquaintance did help me acquire a site diagram of the property where the box manufacturer once stood, but that's all I've obtained so far. I look forward to hearing from anyone who can help. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XBC.2ACE/4220 Message Board Post: As a regular poster, and of course lurker, I must state the following: 1. With warm wishes, bless you and your loved ones, https://www.paypal.com 85587566 dragon

Fellow Listers: I hope the following may prove useful in your research projects. Around the year 1999 [I don't recall exactly when], I visited the Spotsylvania Court in Fredericksburg, which at that time also housed the Chancery Court cases for the District of Fredericksburg. I belive that at this time they (Fredericksburg Historical Society) have moved their offices. Anyway, at the time and to this present day they are indexing all of the old chancery court records. Found as a page marker in one of the books was a list of the which counties were holding proceedings in which court. This typed version for a mailing list will not do the handwritten copy justice, but at least the information it contains will still convey. The note I wrote on the bottom of this copy says: "Virginia Superior Court Districts 1814-185x" Prior to 1814, all superior court cases were heard in Richmond. Those records were burned during the Civil War. This was found as a page marker in one of the court books at Fredericksburg." Keep in mind that this list was drawn up prior to West Virginia's seccession from Virginia, and includes those counties then in existence in modern day West Virginia. This list was probably prepared by an attorney, and predates the Civil War. Using the names of the Judges. the handwriting style, and the counties in it names, a more accurate date could probably be established. Unfortunately, we don't know who wrote it. RICHMOND DISTRICT Judge: frec d [Frederick?] Taylor Convenes: 1st Day of January, 1sty day of June Counties in the District: Amelia, Brunswick, Charlotte, Buckingham, Halifax (crossed out), Chesterfield, King & Queen, Henrico, King William, Louisa, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Fluvanna, Goochland, Greensville, Hanover, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Prince George, Sussex, city of Richmond, City of Petersburg. LYNCHBURG DISTRICT Judge: Taylor Convenes: 1st day of May & 1st day of October Counties in District: Amherst, Cambell, Henry, Pittsylvania, Bedford, Franklin, Patrick and corporations (cities) of Lynchburg @ Nelson. Also, which could be a county or a city (either way I cannot identify it) looks like "Idalifare". WINCHESTER DISTRICT Judge: [D. Cain?] Convenes: 6th July & 16th November Counties in District: Frederick, Hardy, Berkeley, Loudon, Shenandoah, Hampshire, Jefferson WYTHE DISTRICT Judge: Brown Convenes: 25th May and 16th November [at Wythe Court House] Counties in District: Lee, Russell, Washington, Tazewell, Wythe, Grayson, Giles, Montgomery CLARKSBURG DISTRICT Judge: Brown Convenes: at Clarksburg, dates not stated Counties in District: Booker, Ohio, Wood, Harrison, Monongalia, Randolph, Tyler [xxxx, crossed out after Tyler], [Burton?]. NB : The locales in this district may help date this list FREDERICKSBURG DISTRICT Judge: Brown Convenes: 15th of April and 15th day of September Counties in District: Caroline, Culpeper, Fauquier, Fairfax, Lancaster, Northumberland, Madison, King George, Orange, Prince William, Richmond [County], Spotsylvania, Stafford, Essex, Westmoreland and Corporation of Fredericksburg. NB: Interesting to see most, but not all, of the modern Northern Neck counties included in this geographic distribution--e.g., those in the Northern Neck Proprietary. WILLIAMSBURG DISTRICT Judge: Browne Convenes: Scratched out, but had been written "20th Mary & 15th October". Scratched out again is 20th June & 20th September. Interlined the 3rd time is "10th January and 15th July. Place not given, probably Williamsburg. Counties in District: Accomack, Charles City, Elizabeth City, Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City, Matthews, Middlesex, Nansemond, New Kent, Norfolk, Northampton, Princess Anne, Surry, Southampton, Warick, York, Borough of Norfolk. GREENBRIAR DISTRICT Judge: Not stated Covenes: 1st June & 1st November at Greenbriar Court House Counties in District: Greenbriar, Monroe, Cabell, Kanawha, Mason, Bath STAUNTON DISTRICT Judge: Brown Convenes: 15th March & 15th October Counties in District: Augusta, Rockingham, Pendelton, Rockbridge, Albemarle, Botetourt For more information about Chancery Court cases, the Library of Virginia Research Note #22 gives some good background information. A searchable database of plaintiffs and defendants is on their website, but I always have a bit of trouble getting to it. Prior to 1814, you will probably have little luck in finding a court suit unless the original loose files were kept by either one of the parties or their attorneys. You will probably be able to find a reference to any court suit in the court minutes, but those are not likely (usually) to offer up many details. (Depends on how much the clerk wanted to tell in the county record). It should also be mentioned that chancery suits could be filed at either the county level, or the district level, and appeals of course went to Richmond. Happy New Year, Craig Kilby
Fellow researchers, I'm still looking for more information about Sidney Vale, where my Rockbridge Co. ancestors, the Gilmore-Rowlands lived, but I'm having a difficult time explaining my query asking for help. I'll just have to hope you can make sense of the following. Bottom line: Establish (1) who built the house at Sidney Vale plantation located in Rockbridge Co. VA. on the south side of the James River a few miles from Gilmore Mills and near the Botetourt Co. line; and (2) which Gilmore first lived there. Current research project: Determine (exact location) of homes of William and Joseph Gilmore of Rockbridge Co. VA. ca. 1800 - 1805. Was Sidney Vale the house insured by one of them in 1803? The top line in 1803-1805 declarations made by applicants in VA for Mutual Assurance Policies (fire insurance) begins, "I, the underwritten (name) residing at in the county of Rockbridge . . . situated between ____ and ____ . . . " From copies of policies written in Rockbridge Co. (available at LVA): "Wm. Gilmore residing at Gilead ...situated between Joseph Gilmore and . . Samuel Barclay.... " "Joseph Gilmore residing at View Mont ... between Wm. Gilmore and John Greenlee." "John Greenlee residing at Clover Hills ... between Jos. Gilmore and John Polge(Poage?)" In each case, the men state that they are in residence at these three locations. These men are obviously neighbors, so I assume the names Gilead, View Mont and Clover Hills pertain to their plantations and not to towns. Was it necessary for applicants who did not live in towns to identify their location by giving it a name? Does anyone have more information about what these fire insurance policies may reveal? In a perfect genealogical world, someone would recognize these names and write to tell me they know the location, but . . . Do the names, Gilead, View Mont and Clover Hills ring any bells? Are there any Greenlee researchers reading this who would like to share information? I have an excerpt from the sale of Sidney Vale in 1913, and I've done the usual search of land deeds, etc. trying to trace back to the 1800s using what's available online at LVA, et al, but not able to pinpoint a single location. Any ideas or suggestions of where I should go from here much appreciated. In fact, even if you have no suggestions but have been patient enough to read this far, thank you for your patience! Fourth type: Agitator = someone who likes to throw out a match to see if he can start a flame war.
