    1. Obituary of Anna Elizabeth WALKER, 1921
    2. Hi all, This is from the "Richmond Times-Dispatch," Richmond, Va., Monday, January 24, 1921 issue. "Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Walker, HEATHSVILLE, VA., Jan. 23.-Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Walker, widow of the late James Walker, of Westmoreland County, died at "Ingleside, " the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. C. Mann, at Montross, Saturday, aged 81 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. E. C. Jenkins and Mrs. G. C. Mann, of Montross, and one son, James Walker, of Baltimore. Her husband, two children and all of her brothers and sisters preceded her to the grave. Interment was in the family cemetery at "Poplar Plain." Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. L. Fruit, assisted by Rev. W. G. Burch, on Monday." I hope this is helpful to someone. I will soon be adding this obituary to my Old Virginia obituaries, 1790-1940 website. God bless, Beth [email protected]

    1. Re: Re: [VIRGINIA] answering question about town.
    2. Debra Phillips
    3. Denise, I was not familiar with the town you were looking for but I would like to let you know that sometimes towns become ghost towns or change their names. They can do this more than once two. I recently was looking for a town which is now defunct but there are places online where you can find even the towns that no longer exist so if no one has heard of your town don't be discouraged just try looking for it as one being a defunct place. Debra Denise <[email protected]> wrote: I asked a simple question on this list as a newbie a day or two ago and haven't seen an answer. Whilst I understand not everyone can answer a question about a county or a town and whether they exist in Virginia, all I've seen is this rubbish. 3. Sharon, the area that is now Wayne County, WV would have been in Kanawha in 1800, Cabell in 1810, 1820, 1830, 1840. It appears as a separate county on it's own in 1850 in the Map Guide for the US Censuses by Thorndale and Dollarhide. I have a few records for Cabell in that time frame. If you have something simple to look up, get back with me privately and I'll see what I can do. marsha in WV [email protected] wrote: >This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > >Classification: Query > >Message Board URL: > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XBC.2ACE/4223 > >Message Board Post: > >Does anyone know where the records for Wayne Co Va are? He was born around 1837 before coming to Australia in 1853 and is now leading us a merry chase. regards Denise
