I tried scanning slides with a Microtek Scanmake 6x using a slide adapter. I did not have very good results. I then bought an Epson 2450 Photo scanner. It has higher resolution and a better light system in the lid. I can now scan at up to 2400 dpi. Results so far have been great. You need to have fairly high resolution in order to enlarge the pictures.
