Dianne, Three suitcases full -- oh my! A number of years ago I received a large box of photos that had belonged to my grandmother. Most had no name or location. However, when I was a child, she would use the photos to tell me stories of her parents, grandparents and assorted relatives, so I knew who about a third were. I used that knowledge to help ID about another third and sent copies to her cousin and her sister to help with the rest. It is a long process, but using the imprint of the studio and matching up that location with knowledge of where extended family lived helps narrow the search. Also studying the clothes and props help to narrow the time period. After learning as much as you can from the photos, you might try posting on some surname and location list and web sites.
