    3. Well gang I tried your idea(s) of using a high resoultion scanner and then enlarging, also tried digital camera, scanning and enlarging. None worked, by the time it was large enough to see, it was a big blur with nothing dicernable, to the eye, as a human. Maybe I will try sending it to a professional studio, as was suggested. I just know that the picture is of my ggrandfather's mother, who, of course, I know of no pictures in existence. Steve

    3. Hi Steve Is that pic raised, or flat? If it was raised then you could try rubbing it onto paper? Then you could take a photo of your rubbing? Just an idea. :) I've got a very old, and almost not there dark sepia photo of a mystery female, and couldn't actually see much of her face, apart from what looked like a white band across her forehead, which might have been imagination on my part...so got my scanner as a last resort and scanned one pic, then spent hours fiddling around with light and dark tones. In the end, I lightened the background to as light as it could go, and her face became visible enough to see what she looked like, and saw her beads, which could be pearls, around the top of her forehead. She was standing in bushes, so it didn't matter if they vanished.....but, she can't be made any clearer, then I saved her and printed her out using photo paper. She could be a family member for all I know....but, do you or anyone know if wearing beads across the forehead was a fashion statement, or did it signify one's station in life? She's the only one in the pix wearing beads. Thanks for any info. :) Cheers Dig
