I am new to the list also, but I did see the orig. post on this subject. I joined the list to learn, as I don't know much about the subject. But I do think what the person said was true about enlarging areas of an old photograph. I enlarged several old photographs to identify pictures hanging on walls, jewelry, etc. On outdoor photographs we could identify chicken coops and other outbuildings that were not visible in the photo in hand. However, there must be a difference in scanners. I took my old scanner to the attic. Our new scanner is a copier/scanner/printer combination. I like it, but I cannot enlarge the photographs the way I used to with the old scanner. It just seems the pictures I scan are not the quality as with the old scanner. Lori >
