I responded directly to the original query but just in case it helps anyone else: http://www.edinphoto.org.uk/pp_jerome.htm The above is a link to details of Jerome Studio in Edinburgh but if you click on 'Profess Photog' button it pulls up an alphabetical list of other Edinburgh Photographers with dates and address details. With regards Jerome Studios their advertising often stated they had 'Branches Everywhere', my own album of 200-300 postcard photographs (all printed by Jeromes) of a Leicestershire family date from 1917 until 1935 but I've also got a Swansea family album with Jerome printed on the reverse of some of the photos. Possible other useful links for researchers: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~liverpoolphotographers/ The above link is to a list of Liverpool and Wirral Photographic Studios taken from trade directories 19th-20th century. http://victorian.fortunecity.com/carroll/642/index.htm The above link is to a private collector's page who lists the studios of his carte-de-visites along with an approximate date of the photographs - Archive of Cartes: Photographers A-Z. As far as I'm aware books supplying details of vintage photographic studios are a rarity, which is a shame because it saves trawling through trade directories trying to date specific photographs! In fact I've only found two, both American: Ohio Photographers 1839-1900 by Diane Vanskiver Gagel ISBN 1887694072 and Directory of Pennsylvania Photographers 1839-1900 by Linda Ries ISBN 0892710845. I haven't read/seen either book so I'm afraid I can't recommend them although I can commend the authors for writing them <grin> Susana --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
