Di Ann, I don't know where the idea that William's children were brought to TX by William's brothers came from. I don't find anything in my notes about that. I also haven't located any records on William's death. I now see that given the date of birth I have in my notes for William (1 Oct 1818) that he would have died later than Vickie had in her book. She had that he died at the age of 38 years and nine months, and she believed that to be 22 Oct 1856. I had used 22 Oct 1856 as his date of death, but after putting 38 years and nine months into my date calculator I see that would be about July 1857. More details to sort out! When I have the time, I intend to check Vickie's information that there is a guardianship record dated 5 Jun 1860 in Fannin Co., TX, for William's son Bingham S. I don't know what John finally decided about Stephen's children, but at one time I sent him my thoughts that he had an error. He had both an Edward Montgomery and an Edmond C as children of Stephen. I believe that someone confused the changing names in the records of Stephen's children and came up with two separate children that were, in fact, the same person. It appers the child was originally called Edmund Montgomery, but came to be known as Edward C. I have looked at the tax records of Muhlenberg Co., KY, and I believe I have accounted for the children correctly. Would you correct my Zip code on the newsletter address? It should be 33463-6568 but it is being mailed to 53463-6568. Regards, Larry
