    1. [VICK-L] Let's slow down a little!

    3. Doris is right -- Vick-L and the JVFOA are two completely separate and wonderful groups. Vick-L is part of the larger Rootsweb project, which I, too, support. I don't know whether or not Linda Fiddie, our site master, pays an additional fee for the Vick list. If she does and wants contributions toward maintaining it, I think she should make that determination. The Joseph Vick Family of America is a chartered, non-profit organization. Its directors are elected by the members who attend the annual meeting. The directors are responsible for managing the organization. They meet during the annual meeting and when a decision such as the current offer is required they are sent the appropriate information and then share their opinions and a decision is made. As for the current distribution of the Joseph Vick chronology, many have volunteered contributions toward it. My expenses are paper, envelopes and postage. The envelopes and paper are gratis, but I would like to remind folks that when we request genealogical information by snail mail it is a good idea to send the person supplying the information a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Now, those of you who have requested the chronology, don't start sending me envelopes -- my trusty computer and I have already prepared the envelopes and are just waiting for the requests to slow down. When the orders stop, I'll print up the requests and put them in the mail. I am thrilled with the interest in this information summarizing the known documents on Joseph Vick that I have found and I am delighted to share it. And thank each of you who has contributed to the mailing costs. That is very thoughtful of you. And also thank you for your many kind comments about the book that John Beatty and I are producing and for your nice comments about the Newsletter. Di Ann
