    3. Trudy, This is true if the Vick-L list at rootsweb is the only list you are on. How many of us is that true for? You are correct about the *.exe files that you might receive as attachments, too. The 'Happy.exe' virus that went around last year was one of these. If you can query the sender, certainly you should do so, because they may not even know they have it. One of my sisters got the 'Happy.exe' virus, and we never did find out where it came from. The best insurance is a good anti-virus program, and, like Di Ann said, you need to keep it updated with the latest data. Also, you need to just delete any file attachments that are suspicious (just another way of saying you need to know who sent it to you before opening it).
