Hope this helps some of you in your research. Pat Nelson CAROLYN VICK HOLDING WAKE FOREST -- Carolyn Vick Holding, 77, of 145 W. Vernon Avenue, died Sunday, May 7, 2000 at her home. She was born in Nash County and was the daughter of the late Daisy Dean Vick and Arthur Smith Vick. She was a member of the Wake Forest Baptist Church since 1949 where she served on the Diaconate, the flower committee, and was instrumental in starting the tradition of "Hanging of the Greens." She was a former teacher at Wake Forest Elementary School and she served on the first Wake Forest Public Library Board. She was a member of the Book Club Studioso; the Sophie Lanneau Circle; the General James Moore Chapter of DAR and she worked for many years as a Red Cross volunteer at Northern Wake Hospital. She was married to Walter H. "Buddy" Holding who preceded her in death. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, May 9, 2000 at Wake Forest Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Jackson and the Rev. Dr. Carroll Trotter officiating. Burial will follow in Wake Forest Cemetery. Mrs. Holding is survived by her son, Hunter Holding of Wake Forest; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Beth Holding of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Stephen Holding and Kelly Holding of Wake Forest; sister, Martha Anne Register of Raleigh. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to Wake Forest Baptist Church, 107 E. South Avenue, Wake Forest, N.C. 27587.
