    3. Sue -- I'm afraid you're not going to be too successful in your searches: 1, It's now pretty well established that Joseph Vick was not married to anyone named Lucy. That belief was built around a gift of 50 acres from Hodges Council and his wife, Lucy, to Joseph Vick for the ultimate use of his daughter, also named Lucy. Some early researchers assumed that Joseph Vick had married a daughter of Hodges Council named Lucy. Although Hodges Council did have a daughter named Lucy she was of the same age as Joseph Vick's daughter Lucy and she did not marry anyone until after her father's death in 1699. (I will be happy to supply documentation of all of this.) 2. So far as I know, no one knows the surnames of either Richard's wife. 3. AND no one knows where the early Vicks are buried. Probably they were buried in family cemeteries that have long since disappeared. Also, some early Vick lands were subject to flooding. The Southampton County Historical Society has a wonderful web site that includes a cemetery project. They are systematically recording both the public and private cemeteries of the county and including that information on their site --- regretably they haven't found many old Vick sites, but they have found many Vick relatives. You can find the Society by searching for Southampton County, Virginia. (I apologize for not having it handy, but I have it on my "favorites" list and can't open that while I'm e-mailing.) I am searching for Joseph Vick's wife Lucy's maiden name, and Richard (1) Vick's wife Sarah's maiden name, and Richard (2) Vick's wife Ann's maiden name. I am also interested in knowing where Wilson, Richard, Richard and Joseph are buried. Sue Pynes Woodford-Beals > >
