Trudi, While you're at Peachtree, you might also want to visit your Grandmother's grave at the old Jones/Vick family cemetery just north of Peachtree. If you're not familiar with the location, you go about 2 1/2 miles north on hiway 581 toward Louisburg, and then turn left on Vick Road. Take the first driveway to the right on Vick Road, there is an old house there, which we think is where John Richard Vick and Tempie lived. We know that is the home of Walter Vick, Algie's younger brother. Your Grandmother Rhoda Griffin Vick and an infant child John C. Vick are buried in the cemetery in the yard there. When you leave there, turn right on Vick Road and at the next drive way to the left is my home place, which my Father purchased from Uncle Algie in the late 1930's. The old house that Uncle Algie lived in is not there anymore, but actually I grew up in that old house. The brick house that is there now was built in 1950. Also Uncle Algie's daughter Euzelia is buried beside him at Peachtree. Let me know if I can give you any other directions. While you're in Nashville, if you have time, you might try to get in touch with Joe Vick, phone 459-2889. He is a cousin, a great grandson of Josiah and Mary Manning Vick, and I believe, now owns the Lucian L Vick property. He has done a lot of work in researching the Vicks of Nash County. And, if she's home, Beulah Vick lives in the 2 story white house just down Vick road from the Lucian Vick home place. Its visible from the cemetery at the Lucian L. Vick home there. If she is home and well, (she is in her 90's born in 1906) she is also a wealth of knowledge about the Vick family. A good bet is to visit the Braswell Library in Rocky Mount, and for land records as well as to view the original will records, the Nash Court house is the best place. Do take time to visit the Archives in Raleigh tho. The most complete records are there, and the people there are most helpful. You will find that the Franklin County records are the most difficult to research, or at least, I thought so. But you should visit the courthouse there. A lot of the records are in the annex across the street from the Court house. Let me know if I can help you with anything in preparing for your trip. Good luck. Joyce
