Given the design and shape, it could be one of two flags, the Confederate Navy ensign, which was flown at the front of Confederate ships, or it could be the National Symbol of the Southern Democratic Party (adopted in 1948), which was also known by the nickname 'DixieCrat' party. I suspect that if one of the actual Confederate flags were put up, not one person in a million would recognize it. The 'Bonny Blue' flag of the confederacy was solid blue with a single star. The 'Stars and Bars' was two horizontal red bars, one white, with a blue field and white stars. The 'Stainless' banner replaced the red bars with a solid white. The 'Jackson' Flag added a vertical red bar at the end of the flag, and the 'Battle' flag replaced the field of stars. The flag which is claimed to be the 'Battle' flag today was never the 'Confederate' flag. It resembles the flag of the Army of Virginia, but that was a true battle flag and was square in shape.
