Charlotte Ave., died Tuesday (May 31, 2005) at Murfreesboro, Tenn. She was born Nov. 2, 1923, at Harriston, to Herman Lewis and Rella (Shifflett) Layne. She retired from the former Morton's Frozen Foods, Crozet. Mrs. Via was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hiram Thomas Via; three sons, Dale, Howard and Bobby Via; and two daughters, Linda Atkins and Betty Louderback. Survivors include seven sons, Stanley Via of Waynesboro, Steve Via of Murfreesboro, Ray Via of Louisville, Ky., Harold Via of Pensacola, Fla., Mike Via of Bridgewater and Paul and Rex Via of Waynesboro, and two daughters, Loretta Ivey of Murfreesboro and Sherry Cash of Waynesboro. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Reynolds Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Burial will be at Augusta Memorial Park.
