Good Evening!!! Just remembered more. The very large house that is now part of Birdwood Golf Couse (I think that is the name of it) was owned by a Tory, and it was taken away from him and he was ran out of town during the early days of the Rev. War. Read that it was the headquarters for men to sign up for the War. After the War he was paid something for it and it has been kept up and is a beautiful building today. This is the place close to Snead and to Samuel Rea who married Jean Maupin. I found this while I was working on Samuel Rea and Jean Maupin's line. The original road running south from Garth Road has been re-routed when Birdwood was developed and is now nicknamed "21 curves" I believe. If anyone on this group is from the area they will know more about this road. Linda Jarman Valentine told me about it. Anyway I will try and locate the lady who was working on the Sneads. She wrote to me several times about the Sneads. I will check the Tax rolls and see if I can find out more. A will or deed transfer in Albem. might give his daughters names and who they married. John Snead probably died after William Via. Do you know when his wife Sarah died?
