Do some reading on 'coat of arms' first. They were rare, unique to an individual and did not actually belong to a 'family'. 99% of the family 'coat of arms' you see are fakes. Coat of Arms were generally issued by the ruler (king, queen, etc) of the time to an individual and his immediate family. If you consider the standing of our family in France during the 1600's, in exile and being proscuted/executed by the catholic church for being protestant, I find it highly unlikely that our family was ever issued a COA.
