William, It appears from studying the processioning records of St. Paul's Parish that William lived on the land of his father Amer. Virginia Quit Rent Rolls, 1704 New Kent County Rent Roll A Rent Roll of the Lands held of her Maj. in the Parish of St. Peters & St. Pauls, Anno 1704. Amer Vice 50 acres of land I'll look through the processioning records again to see if it gives boundaries of the parish and/or any clues as to where this land might have been. This is the first record of processioning I've found for William. 29 October 1731 Order'd into one precinct for processioning the lands of Thos Frances, Richd Glass, Joseph Peace, Widdow Simmons, John Maske, John Blackwell, Robt Willsford, Saml Chamberlayne, Doctor Hopkins, Colo Dandridge, Wm & James Blackwell, John Turners Orphans, Wm Turner, John Ussery, John Blackwell Junr, Widdow Hughs, Geo Jones, Saml Peace, John Holden, Edwd Burnett, Robt Thompson, Benja Goodman, Saml Goodman, Wm Via, Wm Talley, Mark Anthony, Richd Bullock, Thos Pollett, Richd Glass & John Holden, to See the Said Processioning perform'd &c. The following is the processioning record found for Via before William was listed: At a Vestry held at the Lower Church ye 3d of April 1716, it was ordered, that ye Clerk record the returns for Processioning verbatim as they were returned by the Overseers. The lands of Robt Horsley, Jno Matlock, Peter Plantine, Jonas Lawson, Wm Talley, Jno Talley, Mark Anthony, Mary Via, Widd. Tomson, Widd. Burnett, Widd Peace, and Widd. Crawford being made one precinct, whereof Robt Horsley & Jno Matlock, were Overseers, and made this return, viz in Obedience to the within Order of vestry, we have Peaceably Procession'd the Lands of Jonas Lawson, Wm Talley, Mark Anthony, Amor Via, Wid. Thompson, Widd. Burnet, Widd. Peece, & Widd. Crawford. Peter Plantine not Present, being afflicted with an ailment and not fitting to Come, John Talley having no Land adjoyning at Present. Robt. Horsley, Jno. Matlock I'll see if I can find anything to give clues as to the location of Amer's land. Judy
