Good Afternoon, Group!!! For those of you who are related to either of the above families. I am of the opinion that Margaret Via was an orphan by 1717 and went to live with her sister Jean Via Thompson, wife of Robert Thompson. About 1719 she married Daniel Maupin, where is still a good question. By the fact that Jean was nine years older than Margaret and that by the time of her parents death Jean had apparently married Robert Thompson I believe that Margaret may have lived with them. Also, she named one of her daughters Jean Maupin after her sister. Today I have found something that may also indicate a close connection. I talked with Judy about wondering why Daniel moved in 1748 to the (now) White Hall area of Albemarle County, VA. The Road Order Book for Louisa County 1742-1748 is on line. In this book it has an order for Robert Thompson in 1743 showing that he was living in the area north of Free Union, VA. This means that Robert and Jean were in the area at least five years before Daniel and Margaret Via Maupin. If anyone has questions please post!!!! William
