    3. Thanks, everyone, for your help. There were some good clues to work on - and place my Eliza Via Humphrey with William Via, born 1791. The 1860 Augusta Co. census shows William living alone just two doors from George & Eliza Humphrey. If this is William who married Nancy Maupin, it appears that Nancy has died between 1850-1860. Assuming that the William Via, Sr. in the 1840 Albemarle census and the William Via in 1850 Augusta are the same, there are two little girls unaccounted for - possibly one born between 1836-1840 and one born between 1830-1835 - or this is possibly Harriet and both little girls born 1836-1840 have died. They were not in the 1850 census with William & Nancy. Thanks, again, I appreciate everyone's help, Janet Jlmaupin@aol.com wrote: > > In a message dated 10/14/2005 6:28:17 PM Pacific Standard Time, > jcook@usroots.com writes: > > If anyone has the following book, would you mind taking a look to > see what the source is for William Via and Nancy R.
