The Charleston Gazette: HINTON - Emma Irene Via, 81, of Hinton died July 10, 1998, in Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital, Hinton, after a long illness. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Summers County. Surviving: husband, Ernest W. "Buck" Via; son, Orton Ernest Via of Greenup, Ky.; daughters, Jean Titta of Hinton, Shirley Belford of Belleville, Mich., Drema Clair of Greenup, Juanita Bennett of Hinton; sisters, Edith Hambrick of Oceana, Texie Adkins of Beckley; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor, Hinton, with Pastor Tommy Mounts officiating. Burial will be in Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
