    3. Lucille Hicks Via, 83, of Troutville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 13, 2006. She was born May 23, 1923, in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Jesse and Vinne Tucker Hicks. Ms. Via retired as a waitress from the Holiday Inn in Salem. She was a member of the Community Advent Christian Church in Troutville. Surviving are two daughters, Angie Cash and her husband, Steve of Troutville, and Brenda Burks and her husband, Buck of Clifton Forge; one daughter-in-law, Marianne Campbell of Blue Ridge, Va.; four grandchildren, Stephanie Day and her husband, Dave of Chesapeake, Brandy Cash and Curtis Johnson of Roanoke, Renae Burks of Clifton Forge, and Julia Campbell of Blue Ridge; one great-grandson, Timmy Campbell of Roanoke; one great-granddaughter, Marina Cash of Roanoke; two stepgrandchildren, Hattie Singleton and Benny Topping III, both of Newport News; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Shane Hawly of North Carolina and Elena Brockencrough of Newport News; one brot! her, Howard Hicks and his wife, Arnetta of Covington; one sister, Vivian Hicks of Jessup, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. T.G. Ayers officiating. The interment will be made in Campbell Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at anytime at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends Saturday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
