    3. Hi Group, I have heard this story of the missing stones many times. I believe it to be true. Every time I visit the cemetary we all talk about this. It is time to do something about it. I would be glad to write a letter or drop by and see the wife. Let me know the details. I pray that my pastoral skills will help me. I would be glad to replace her stones with new ones and take back the old ones. Thanks, Leon C. Via III "William R. Albertson" <maupinreunion@ckt.net> wrote: Good Evening, Group!!! Some time ago and perhaps several times the subject of the Via Cemetery located on the Blue Ridge Mountain in Virginia was discussed. Although I never went up on the Mountain while I lived there I visited many people who had. Phil James of White Hall made a video of the cemetery that I also looked at. While in that area doing research I met a man who told that many of the stones in this cemetery, the family of Christopher Columbus Via, had disappeared over the years. He said when he first saw the cemetery many many years ago there were alot of stones. This man told me that many stones had been removed by a person who had used them in his yard as a walk. I have never told anyone of this, but now both men are deceased and perhaps now is the time to let descendants know of these stones. If you are a descendant of Christopher Columbus Via and would like to know about these stones please post a message on the list. The wife of the man who removed the stones still lives, the last I knew, and the parcel of land where the stones are reported to be. I never approached the man or his wife and never saw the walkway but did visit their home several times. I was reluctant to look in the backyard. William --------------------------------- Yahoo!
