Murray Calvin Viar, 92, died Saturday, June 3, 2006 in Chester. Born October 25, 1913 at Rockfish Depot, a son of the late John E. and Suzanne Mays Viar. Murray was a retired heavy equipment operator with Lyttle & Barnes Construction of Richmond. He is survived by his daughter, Grace C. Lambert of Chapin, S.C.; four sons, Calvin L. Viar of Chesterfield, William R. Viar of Fredericksburg, Kenneth Wayne Viar of Chester, and Jeffrey (J.C.) Viar of Virginia Beach; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Rock Spring United Methodist Church in Faber, with Rev. Brantley Craig officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before time of service in the church social hall, and suggests that memorials take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Piedmont, 2200 Old Ivy Rd., Charlottesville, Va. 22903.
