VIA, WILLIAM D., (Bill) 62, of Floyd, went home to play his fiddle for Jesus on Saturday, February 24, 2001. Bill worked at Willis Elementary School and was a big fan of old time music, especially Rfe Brady. He will be greatly missed for his love, his caring and kindness. He will be especially missed by his beloved dog, "Chow" and his great friends, Stan and Debbie Coley. Survivors include his wife, Jo Anne H. Via of Floyd: son and daughter-in-law, Jerry r. and Tina Hamlin of Christiansburg, daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Jerry Martin of Pulaski: brother and sister-in-law Lane and Eva Via of Floyd: grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, Devin, Chealsea Ann and Joseph: and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2001 at the Christiansburg Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Richard Kingrea and the Rev. Steve Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Topeco Cemetery, Floyd. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mayberry Funeral Home, Floyd.
