It seems we can now put the parentage of Menoah Via to rest.... Our previous records gave his parents as Ira & A. Via. We (shame on us) assumed this was Ira and Amanda. But Menoah lived with Ira's 1st wife according to a census record. So the controversy began. Anyway, in looking at the Albemarle Death records William told us about the entry for Menoah reads: 18 Via M G April-1864 Albemarle dysentary 23 yrs Ira & S A Via Albemarle W J Points physician The death record that gave the parents as Ira and A. Via....the A could have been for Ann since Sarah's name was Sarah Ann. Documentation now places Menoah Via as the son of Sarah Ann Sandridge and Ira H. Via. Judy
